All About Isla

Caribe Direct, Inc. is a Puerto Rico corporation established in 1994 to sell products from Puerto Rico through direct selling. ISLA is our first catalog. We have five full-time employees, and our sole shareholder is Elizabeth Parker, aka "Betsy."

We printed and mailed the first edition of Isla for Christmas 1994 and have mailed thirty different editions since. We have shipped more than 110,000 orders in the fourteen years we have been in the catalog business.

We are a 100-percent privately-owned company. Our offices and warehouse are in San Juan, Puerto Rico. All items sold in our catalog are held in inventory except where noted in our catalog. Our suppliers are Puerto Rican companies, book publishers from the U.S. and Puerto Rico, and individual artisans both in Puerto Rico and the United States. We maintain an inventory of all items in our warehouse in San Juan.

We try to ship all orders within 48 hours of receiving them. We work diligently to control back-orders and out-of-stocks, the most common reasons we cannot ship within 48-hours. Other reasons include incomplete information on the order or a problem with a credit card approval - both of which we can solve easily when customers provide us with their daytime telephone number (Yes, that's why we need it! Not so we can call to sell you something during the dinner hour!) With the increases in the cost of shipping, more often we need to wait until all items in your order are available to ship, so we can ship a single package.

Because we are a bona fide mail order business and not a fly-by-night internet site, we offer all kinds of services you would expect to find when your order from a mail order catalog. We gift wrap. We can send items to multiple addresses. We ship all over the world! We accept credit card orders (VISA, MasterCard and American Express) and if you order by mail, we also accept checks and money orders. We can also accept Purchase Orders from schools, libraries, and other corporations. We have rush shipping options for when you need things really fast and don't care how much it is going to cost (and from Puerto Rico - Overnight shipping costs A LOT - It is much better to plan ahead. If you can live with 2 day delivery, you'll save a bundle.)
