An exploration of the setting, scenery, characters, history, architecture, and the natural beauty surrounding some of Puerto Rico's lighthouses.
Spain planned a system of lighthouses for Puerto Rico. The first was built in El Morro Fort in San Juan in 1846, and the last one in Rincon in 1921, under American rule. The people who inhabited the lighthouses: fishermen, biologists, historians, and architects share their stories. For each, their light was a symbol of hope amidst the perilous waters around the island.
You will also be allow to look at the present: At the new technologies, to admire the structures, and revel in the natural beauty that surrounds them, enhanced by wonderful photography.
